I had the day off on St Patrick’s Day, and Brice didn’t have to work till late afternoon. We decided to take advantage of the beautiful weather and head to the zoo! Harrison didn’t really appreciate the animals much, but he loved seeing other babies.

When he got sick of the stroller I strapped him into my BabyHawk.

Harrison and I went to the Capitol and sat in on a Senate hearing. We (and at least 30 other mom/baby pairs) were in attendance for a hearing on AB-57.

AB57 Bill Text:  “A mother may breast−feed her child in any public or private location where the mother and her child are otherwise authorized to be. In such a location, no person may prohibit a mother from breast−feeding her child, request or direct a mother to move to a different location to breast−feed her child, request or direct a mother to cover her child or breast while breast−feeding, or otherwise restrict a mother from breast−feeding her child as provided in this section.”

It was freezing when we parked the car downtown. I bundled Harrison up in the BabyHawk and a crocheted blanket and we walked a couple blocks to the Capitol building. I was considering just getting back in the car and heading home – it was that cold!

We ended up wandering around the Capitol building for a while trying to find the right room and ended up just  following  the sound of babies! One mom had a baby in a carrier on her front, and another baby in a carrier on her back. I am so glad we stuck it out through the cold. It was such an amazing experience to take part in our legislative process!
